Yoga Move and Breathe has classes for all abilities.

Most people think yoga is…
about bending and stretching the body into shapes. And yes, the physical is one side to the ‘yogic science’ and is an important one as it strengthens our bodies and increases our flexibility. But there is much more to it.
Another side to yoga is working with the breath: breathwork – by bringing the body and breath together it can have a positive effect on the mind, bringing quiet, calm, and focus.
So, yoga isn’t about bending and flexing as far as you can go. You don’t have to be able to wrap your legs around your ears, or other weird and wonderful moves! With gentle encouragement and modification, you can connect your body with your breath and your mind – finding union and balance, within and without – which is the definition of yoga.

Somatics and Yoga……..
Earlier in 2025 I attended a course in Somatics, a practice invented by Thomas Hanna in the 1970s, where we learn to re-programme our muscles, learning to recognise what is tight and how to release it through slow and focused movement.
Combining Somatics with Yoga brings a greater awareness to our bodies by taking our attention to what is going on inside the body – known as interoception, together with the involvement of the breath, making our practice truly about the balance of the mind and body through focus and concentration.

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’m a Somerset girl who grew up here on the Levels and I feel strongly connected to this area. Walking along the river with my dog is so peaceful and calming, and I love the big skies with all their space. I have qualified through the British Wheel of Yoga, a worldwide recognised and respected body. I am fully insured. Yoga, Move and Breathe classes are suitable for everyone, of all abilities including beginners.
